Three men charged in high-value perfume theft in Barrhaven

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has charged three men in connection with a high-value perfume theft that occurred on Monday, March 17, 2025, on Strandherd Drive.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at a business in the 3100 block of Strandherd Drive. Upon arrival, the suspects had already fled the scene.
The case was investigated by the West Criminal Investigations Section. As a result, three Ottawa men—34-year-old Andrew SMYTH, 40-year-old Shane ALBERT, and 56-year-old Theodore VANDERHORN—have each been charged with the following offences:
Theft Over $5,000
Wearing a Disguise with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence
Conspiracy to Commit Theft Over $5,000
All three accused remain in custody at this time.
Investigators would like to thank members of the public who provided assistance during the early stages of the investigation.
