Starting Wednesday, January 15, sections of Woodroffe Avenue, from David Drive to Norice Street, will be reduced to one lane southbound.
The southbound lane closure is related to emergency watermain repair work, involving excavation in the southbound lanes of Woodroffe Avenue, replacement of sections of watermain, and reinstatement of the road.
This work is expected to be completed in spring 2025.
Traffic impacts and OC Transpo
Traffic delays around the construction zone are expected. Signage will be in place to notify residents of the impacted area. Residents are encouraged to consider alternate routes or to take transit where possible.
OC Transpo routes will be maintained through the construction zone.
Local access, pedestrians, and cyclists
Access for pedestrians and cyclists through the construction zone will be maintained but may be detoured at times. Access to local businesses and private properties will be maintained at all times.

Additional Updates
January 17, 2025
Traffic management set-up was successfully implemented yesterday evening. Southbound traffic and transit are being maintained around the work area using the Woodroffe southbound transit and cycling lane between Tallwood//Meadowlands and Norice Street (one traffic lane southbound is maintained). Excavation has commenced to expose and replace the watermain pipe sections. This will occur throughout the weekend and next week.
The City’s water distribution system remains fully operational and reliable and continues to deliver high-quality water to residents. We are aiming to provide another update on construction progress on Monday. We will continue to provide updates throughout the duration of the repair as it relates to the current workplan, schedule and traffic staging.
