Registration: Frosty's Hug Sign Up
Thanks for your interest in our initiaive! On December 5, 2022 (International Volunteer Day), I announced a pilot programme for Barrhaven West: Operation Frosty’s Hug. This is an excellent opportunity for us to grow some community spirit here in Barrhaven!
So, how does it work?
Find a neighbour or someone in need of help with snow clearing.
Register HERE.
It's that simple!
There's no fixed start date; you can start whenever the snow falls!
The goal is to encourage community engagement and spirit here in Barrhaven, and for participating high school students, this can be used for their volunteer hours as well. Bonus! We will follow up at the end of winter to certify hours so be sure to track them!
As it is voluntary, there is no payment and no contracted requirements – this is all about participation and encouraging neighbourhood interaction!
At the conclusion of the winter, participants will be eligible to win a draw for a gift certificate from some of our amazing local businesses here in Barrhaven.
Safety is paramount throughout, so participants should ensure that they reach out to people they know or if they are unsure, to go in pairs.
Should any issues arise at any time, please reach back to this office and we will be happy to help you. Thank you for your consideration and I encourage you and your friends to take up the challenge and reach out to someone that could use a hand this winter!
