Barrhaven Food Cupboard Upate

The Barrhaven Food Cupboard is seeking assistance from the Barrhaven Business Community.  We are looking to partner with a business that has a cargo van or similar vehicle that could be made available for food order pickups twice each month from our food wholesaler.  The time requirement is about 2.5 hours on each second Monday but times could be adjusted to convenience the partner. The Barrhaven Food Cupboard volunteers would supply the labour for loading and unloading.  The growing demand for food assistance in Barrhaven requires us to support over 580 families (2500 people) each month. This demand far surpasses the food collected weekly at the local food store partners and results in over $50,000.00 in food purchases each month. The size of the orders exceeds what can be carried in private vehicles and renting is expensive.
