Why I’m Running

My life has been devoted to public service and I will be dedicated to making our community of Barrhaven the best it can be.

Hi, my name is David Hill, and I’m running to be your next city councillor for Ward 3, Barrhaven West.

I’m a husband, a father of two, community volunteer, and a 25-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Our long-time city councillor, Jan Harder, has announced that she will retire and not seek re-election. I’ve served in Afghanistan, in Lebanon and Haiti. I supported the humanitarian flood relief operations in Gatineau and Kashechewan and coordinated the efforts to resettle Syrian refugees and to bring home Canadians that were stranded abroad at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I know the meaning of hard work and I will be dedicated to making our community the best that it can be. What I’ve been hearing from you and what I want to do for our community at City Hall is to build Barrhaven, including the roads and bridges that our community needs. Fight for better and more reliable transit, fight to keep our taxes low, and improve community safety. This is my vision for Barrhaven.

If you believe in me and what I stand for, then I need your help. I’d love to have you on my team.

About Me

I am running to be the next City Councillor for Ward 3 – Barrhaven West because I see a need for strong and dedicated leadership to guide our growing community of Barrhaven forward. I have spent my whole life centred around the concept of service before self, including for the last 25 years as an infantry officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.
